Your Privacy and Our Confidentiality Policy
The Spanish River Counseling Center is committed to maintaining your confidence and trust, and accordingly maintains the following privacy policy to protect personal information you provide. It is our policy that personal information, such as your name, postal and e-mail addresses, telephone number, counseling-related individual, couples and/or family communication is private and confidential. Accordingly, the personal information you provide is stored in a secure location and is used only for the purposes for which you provide the information (to screen for and provide counseling).
We follow the principles governing the American Medical Association Guidelines for Medical and Health Information Sites. Protection of the patients’ right to confidentiality is fundamental. The Spanish River Counseling Center will not track or maintain any medical information provided by visitors unless expressly permitted by the visitor.
No Confidential Information by E-Mail
Since Email messages sent over the internet may not be secure, E-Mail messages sent to the Spanish River Counseling Center may also not be secure. Therefore, we strongly discourage site visitors from sending any confidential information via e-mail. Site visitors sending e-mail accept the risk that a third party may intercept e-mail messages.
No Release of Information to Third Parties
Personal information will not be released to third parties except of release is required by law. This includes an allegation, admission or suspicion of abuse or neglect. There are no other circumstances under which we will provide or sell personal information to third parties
